Beth and Tim's Wedding - Reception
The reception went from 5:30pm to 11:30pm at The Refinery in
Champaign. A few details:
- The tables were labelled with Transformers.
- As wedding favors, each guest received a coffee mug filled with
goodies. The mugs were purchased at garage sales over slightly more than
a year, and were meant to be both individual and memorable. Only the
"good" (interesting and undamaged) mugs were distributed. The mugs were
filled with candy and with a button:
- Each guest also received one of two buttons, one green and one
purple, each reading "Beth & Tim / May 19, 2007". Anybody that's
known Tim for any length of time knows why.
- Food was provided by two caterers - Hickory River Smokehouse
(barbecue, potatoes, green beans, and cornbread) and Bombay Indian Grill
(six different Indian dishes). I have yet to hear a complaint about the
food besides the fact that it was messy.
- There were a total of 18 cakes - six bakery cakes provided by Sweet Indulgence, and twelve
(truly excellent!) cheesecakes provided by Margaret Norton, my Dad's lab
manager.
- The napkins were also purchased at garage sales over the previous
year. The rest of the dishes were provided by the caterers.
- The wedding party came into "Good To Be Back", by Scooter, one of
Tim and Beth's favorite techno bands.
